2025 Edition

The laureates of the second edition developed their projects over ten months of guidance and mentorship. Their work was exhibited at Espace Géopolis in Brussels from 5 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.

Constance Proux, winner of the Germaine Van Parys Award 2025

Constance Proux carried out a project in a language school in the heart of Brussels, where she has been learning Dutch for two years. Throughout the year, she met regularly with a group of students, with whom she tirelessly repeated the same words, syllables and sounds. Despite a rudimentary shared vocabulary, they exchanged intimate stories. The participants, whose life paths are varied and sometimes complex, explore together, notably through staged scenes, how we seek to understand and be understood, and how learning a language runs through us and transforms us.

Eloïse Brunet, winner of the Discovery Award

Eloïse Brunet's project took shape in a shelter for girls removed from their family homes. It explores how to translate their daily lives, their points of view and their aspirations into images while respecting their anonymity. Together, they invented forms to work around the constraint of the absent face while revealing the complicity, intimacy and bond that gradually grew between them.

Amélie Testenoire Lafayette, winner of the Discovery Award

Amélie Testenoire Lafayette explores representations of masculinity by reversing the power dynamics usually associated with the male gaze. At a time of rising masculinism, her work projects a softer, calmer masculinity, far from the dominant codes of virility, building with her models images that reconcile vulnerability, intimacy and new possibilities of representation.

2024 Edition

Marie Sordat, winner of the Germaine Van Parys Award 2024

Photographer and exhibition curator, Marie Sordat (1976) lives and works in Brussels. Her work has been shown in many festivals, galleries and museums in Europe and around the world, and has also been the subject of monographic publications. Marie Sordat also teaches photography at INSAS and leads workshops.

The Découvertes Award

Cécili Matureli, winner of the 2024 student award.

Cécili Matureli (1998), then a directing student at INSAS in Brussels, explores the teeming life of the entrance halls of Brussels apartment buildings.

“The microcosms that Brussels buildings are symbolise the capital in my eyes: overcrowded Brussels, heteroclite Brussels, expressive Brussels, isolated Brussels. A diversity of cultures, styles and materials. Traces of the past, roots in the present, desires for the future.”
